Louisa is a Chartered Psychologist and a Registered Occupational Psychologist with over 15 years of consulting experience and over 10 years of management and leadership experience.
She started her career in Occupational Psychology at QinetiQ (formerly, the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency), where the work she was involved in was extremely varied, ranging from exploring the conceptualisation of organisational structure and the effects of digitisation for the Armed Services to assisting with the management and operation of a national, confidential incident-reporting scheme for the railway industry, giving her a broad foundation in the practical application of Occupational Psychology.
In 2002, she moved to join SHL, where she worked in the Research and Product Development departments, developing sophisticated psychometric products. After SHL, she worked at PSL (Psychometric Services Ltd) carrying out a variety of both assessment design and delivery work, working with a wide range of private and public sector clients. In 2005, she joined the Innovation, Products and Technology team at Cubiks, where she worked until 2016 as a Managing Consultant.
She has expertise in designing a diverse range of innovative psychometric tools, including static and item-banked ability tests, personality questionnaires, competency questionnaires, Situational Judgement Tests, realistic job preview exercises, inbox simulation exercises, AC / DC exercises, application forms, interview guides, expert reports and competency / leadership frameworks. Her expertise includes cross-cultural development of tools for international use, Adverse Impact / diversity analysis, complex statistical analysis (including IRT-based test design and scoring, Differential Item Functioning and Structural Equation Modeling) and validation / evaluation.
Louisa started working as an Independent Consultant in 2016, and at this time joined the Irving and Irving team. She is greatly enjoying the variety of opportunities this brings.
Education, Training & Affiliates
Louisa gained her undergraduate Psychology degree from the University of Oxford, and her MSc in Occupational Psychology at the University of Surrey, which she was awarded with Distinction.
She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a member of both the Division of Occupational Psychology and the Special Group in Coaching Psychology. In 2014, she chaired the DOP’s Occupational Psychology in Public Policy (OPIPP) group. She has acted as a BPS Psychometric Test Reviewer since 2004 and is a current BPS Guest Consultant Editor for Test Reviews. She is also an Assessor and a Supervisor for the Qualification in Occupational Psychology.
She is a qualified BPS Test User: Occupational, Ability and Personality, and is accredited to use the 16PF Industrial, Eysenck Personality Profiler, OPQ32, OPI, PAPI and WAVE personality questionnaires.
