With over 13 years experience as an in-house consultant, Sue has a strong track record in training, management and organisation development. With experience spanning the automotive, mining and luxury goods sectors she brings valuable perspectives and a deep understanding of the realities of organisational life.
Sue joined Ford Motor Company’s learning and development function in 1999. She was part of a small team selected to develop a subsidiary training company, funded by Ford with the aim of generating revenue. During this time she was involved in identifying training and development needs, commissioning innovative development programmes and managing teams to deliver high quality support to customers throughout Europe.
In 2002 she moved to the sales and marketing arm of the DeBeers Group of Companies – the Diamond Trading Company – to head up their training function. Her work involved transforming perceptions of and engagement with training, bringing new management and general staff development programmes to the organisation. She was subsequently promoted to a global position within DeBeers, focusing on leadership development. In 2005 she became an Organisational Effectiveness and Talent Consultant, working closely with the Managing Director and Executive committee of DeBeers to deliver significant change projects as part of the organisation’s transformation.
Sue has practised as an independent consultant since early 2012.

Sue graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea with a degree in psychology. She completed her MSc in Occupational Psychology at Birkbeck College, University of London in 2004 with her dissertation exploring the factors which impact on the transfer of learning from leadership training. She is a Chartered member of The British Psychological Society (BPS). Further qualifications she draws on include:
BPS Qualified Test User, Occupational, Ability and Personality – certified to use a variety of psychometric instruments including MBTI and Hogan’s Personality Inventory.
